This one-hour informational session provides Registered Massage Therapists with an introduction to the knowledge and protocols required to safely and effectively manage the most common post-surgical complications. We will move "beyond bruising" by detailing the difference between traditional Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and the specialized approach needed to address persistent edema, seroma formation, and early-stage fibrosis. Participants will learn essential safety protocols, understand the non-negotiable role of compression garments, and gain clarity on clinical red flags that require immediate referral back to the surgeon, positioning the therapist as an indispensable and responsible partner in the client's successful recovery team.
