CMTO Releases 2023 Annual Report

We are pleased to announce the release of CMTO’s new Annual Report.

Over the past year, CMTO started the work on its new multi-year Strategic Plan (2023-25). Our dedicated team, with oversight from CMTO’s Board, made progress in key areas of the plan:

Sexual Abuse Prevention. This marked the first year CMTO introduced its Prevention of Sexual Abuse Symposium. The new event brought together educators, client advocates and other regulators for a discussion about the prevention of sexual abuse in Massage Therapy.
Engagement and Partnerships. We continued collaborating with our health system partners on the innovative Health Professions Discipline Tribunals Pilot (HPDTP). We also held several Open House events across Ontario to learn from RMTs about the issues impacting Massage Therapy practice.
Regulatory Excellence. In 2023, we introduced CMTO’s new Risk-based Assessment as part of STRiVE, CMTO’s Quality Assurance Program.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). CMTO advanced our commitment to promoting EDI principles in the Massage Therapy profession by forming a permanent EDI Standing Committee for the College.
