Update on Monkeypox Reporting

On June 17, 2022, the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) distributed a memo (https://www.cmto.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/CMOH-Memo-Monkeypox-June-16-2022-IDPP-BY.pdf) and an Infectious Disease Protocol (https://www.cmto.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Smallpox-and-other-Orthopoxviruses_2022_IDPP.pdf) to health care providers and public health units on monkeypox.

Monkeypox has been designated a Disease of Public Health Significance (DOPHS) as “Smallpox and other Orthopoxviruses including Monkeypox” under the Health Protection and Promotion Act. Additionally, an Order from the Chief Medical Officer of Health issued on May 20 on monkeypox reporting has been revoked.
