Which One Should I Choose?
Presenter: Sam Jarman MSc, MOMSc
Description: Each patient/client is unique and should be treated as such. Not every technique will work for every person so we benefit from building an intervention for the specific individual. In this session we will discuss how to prioritize assessment findings as well as how to make choices to build an appropriate intervention for the patient and adjust based on how the patient/client responds.
Releasing Myofascial Tension from the Inside-Out
Presenter: DR. Roth DC, ND
Description: Helping You Work Smarter, Not Harder Matrix Repatterning is based on the proven concept that Bone is Fascia, and that releasing tension patterns in bone (one of the deepest layers of fascia), practitioners can dramatically improve the efficiency and effectiveness of treatments.
The Psoas as a Pathway for Birth
Presenter: Lindsay Finnie RMT
Description: This session will explore the psoas muscle and its relationship to birth. We will discuss how the psoas plays a role in fetal positioning, how it can inhibit fetal descent in labour and how it affects the nervous system of our patients. This session will be a combination of lecture and demo.
Piriformis Syndrome: Small Moves, Big Relief
Presenter: Joanne Baker RMT
Description: The piece of the puzzle you didn’t know was missing! Join this one-hour info session to discover the hidden factors that may be restricting your results. Get a taste of assessment tips, targeted strategies, and how to think beyond the muscle for better outcomes. Learn why it keeps coming back—and what to do differently. Be a part of a sneak peek into a smarter way to treat hip and sciatic-type pain.
Integrating Kinesiology Tape Into A Manual Therapy Practice:Taping To Optimize Pain Management And Motor Control
Presenter: Brad Norris RMT, Exercise Physiologist
Description: Kinesiology tape has become a staple in the performance and clinical world.
The goal of this session is to demystify the efficacy of kinesiology tape so each student has an intuitive understanding of the science behind the tool.
Using a Screen - ReScreen assessment model, we will apply tape to optimize function along the mobility - stability continuum from the ground up targeting the ankle / foot / knee / hip / low back / cervical spine and upper limb.
Students will perfect a skill set through both theory and practical hands-on applications that can be implemented safely and effectively Monday morning.
Tape can be an invaluable tool for every movement therapist. Taping applications include plantar surface / ankle / knee / lower back / shoulder / cervical spine / scar applications and edema control applications.
Advanced Concussion Treatment: Cranium, Upper Neck And Thorax
Presenter: Sean-Michael Latimour RMT, DOMP
Description: Learn how to effectively treat and work with clients with concussion symptoms and how massage therapy can be an effective tool in any patient's recovery. Focus of the course will work on the 4 major areas of a concussion with the Physical (Cervicogenic, Cranial, and Thoracic), Vestibular, Visual and Autonomic Treatment. Learn effective hands on tools to get results with your clients. Do your patients complain of neck pain? Headaches? These are common complaints in those suffering from thoracic issues.
Learn to understand the connection between shoulder girdle restrictions and the implications they can have on the cranium, neck and upper thorax and typical concussion symptomology. When the cranium is twisted due to external neuromuscular imbalances, or loss of tension ‘balance’ of the intra-cranial membranes, function of the upper thorax can be impacted. Learn how to treat dural system impairments from cranial musculoskeletal to apply effective relief for you clients.
Manual therapies: Craniosacral Release techniques, Neuromuscular release, Vestibular, and Vision work to restore function for any patient presenting with headaches, neck pain, ear ache, jaw pain, rib pain and/or shoulder girdle pain.
The Correlation Between The TMJ And The Pelvic Floor: Aligning the Diaphragms
Presenter: Terra Nicolle RMT, MOMSc
Description: How we can assess and treat the symptoms of TMJ dysfunction or Pelvic Floor dysfunction from either end of the curves. Understanding the link between the diaphragms through the fascial lines of the body and how to effectively treat.
This is the beginning of a new understanding of how we can treat the chronic pain of the body with a different perspective. In this course we will learn hand placement a few different positions to effectively treat both.
